About Me
Samantha Moffatt-Sanz is a Toronto/Tkaronto-based artist and curator currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Criticism & Curatorial Practices at OCAD University. Her research explores frameworks of reciprocity and mutual care within the commercial art market. Samantha’s artistic and curatorial practice emphasizes slow, immersive, and intuitive modes of artistic production and viewership. Her work seeks to bridge institutional decision-making with alternative artist-run ethics, advocating for non-transactional structures within commercial spaces.
Her art is a mix of film and digital photography, mixed-media paintings, and 3-dimensional works that range from representational and realistic to abstract and emotional.
She has been featured in various art competitions in Toronto and Montreal. She has been published in the Branksome Hall Arts and Literary Magazine Perennial, as well as in the SAAG 2024 Arts Writing Reader, Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin.
Before her current tenure in Toronto/Tkaronto, Samantha resided in Montreal/Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang for 4 years while completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History & Studio Arts at Concordia University. She is an active member of the arts communities in Toronto and Montreal.
Samantha has been a volunteer at the Luminato Festival of Arts in Toronto, the Junior and Senior Arts editor of Perennial, a Juror for Concordia’s VAV Gallery, a member of the Board of Directors for the 2022-23 Art Matters Festival, a Radio DJ and radio show host at CJLO 1690AM since 2023, a vendor at various Art Markets in Toronto & Montreal and the VP of Events for Concordi’art.
She recently served on the Committee for the 2026 OCADU Graduate Conference and as a project manager and co-curator for We Are Still Here - Technically at Xpace Cultural Center.
